Is It Coming to Your High School Football Game?

*     *     *

Many major sporting events open with the flybys of aircraft synchronized with the playing of “Our National Anthem”.  NASCAR, professional football and baseball, and college football all enjoy this flying experience.

The North Georgia Transportation Expo (NGTE) begins an addition to this flyby tradition by introducing “FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHTS”, a flyby staged by performers of the NGTE air show to be held Saturday and Sunday, September 13-14, 2008, at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport, Rome, GA.

Whether your high school is playing home or away on Friday, September 12, 2008, Transportation Expo (TEXPO) will support your team with two low-pass flybys with lights, smoke and whatever additional features your assigned aircraft provides.

Again, home or away!!  There is no out-of-pocket expense to the school.  However, TEXPO requests the following in return.

I.    Between the two aircraft passes at your game, a one minute announcement is read acknowledging the air show and informing your spectators that tickets to the air show are available at your game at reduced advance ticket prices ($12 for 13 & over, $6 for ages 6-12 & under six, free).  At half time the same message will be read again.

II.    From the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year through September 11, advance sale tickets at the prices listed above can be sold through a group selected at your school.  We will furnish the tickets on a consignment basis, then collect the ticket receipts and unsold tickets at 7 PM Thursday, September 11, at the airport.

III.    All tickets sold at your school and at your football game will earn a rebate of $2 per adult ticket and $1 per child 6-12 ticket for the school group that handles your advance ticket sales.  The rebate will be paid within two weeks after the show.  We will have a staff coordinator at each Friday night game.  He/she will need two media-type passes for this individual and partner.

IV.    The principal of the school selling the most tickets in proportion to its student enrollment will receive a ride on a WW II aircraft on Sunday morning, Sept. 14, at 11 AM.

V.    All participating “FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHTS” schools will receive a plaque acknowledging their participation in this program.

VI.   TE carries a $3,000,000 umbrella liability policy that covers any damage, injury or death caused by the flybys on September 12, 2008.

VII.     All show net receipts will be distributed to local charities.  Transportation Expo is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All members are volunteers.  No one receives compensation for his/her time and talent.
